Hi.

I have notebook HP Pavilion dv6-6035ec

I have freshly installed windows 7 64 bit

I have ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 GPU - i see it in devmgmt.msc

Main problem is with windows update.

It want to install AMD SMBus driver

But installation proccess will everytime end with error 80070103

I tried to install AMD Catalyst from AMD website - which should automatically detect and install drivers

- this proccess freezed.

Now i have made manual driver update in devmgmt.msc for ATI HD 4200 and resterted notebook

Now windows update show only Searching updates

I want to know if i have properly installed the driver and if it will work properly.

- i need to install another updates from windows update - because of security

Hi:

I have zipped up and attached the smbus controller driver you need, below.

Download and unzip the file to its folder.

Do not do anything with the files in the folder.

Go to the device manager, and click on the smbus controller device needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab. Click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder you unzipped.

Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked, and the driver should install.

Then restart the PC.

Dish program guide won't download free. I don't recall having to enter the state name in the menu to find the satelite, only the zip code.

In system devices is here only some PCI E and UMBus and another devices

You're very welcome.

Then you must have installed the smbus controller driver when you installed the graphics driver.

If there are no devices listed under an Other Devices device manager category with ! marks next to them, then all the drivers have been successfully installed.

There is no marks !

But if i go to Windows update - History of updates - and there is AMD SMBus.. Unsucceful install

Ok, the notebook work without problems.

I think there will not be problems with performance

So, i think that we can make it SOLVED
