The ssssss are VERY hard to bare! Maybe some changes could be made. I may have to get the book, not based on content. However, the oratory narrator's pathology is OVERLY focused on her ssssss's that it bleeds into other words and you are not sure what she is saying. Or, the sound board operator thought it was sexy the first 30 seconds. But 4 hours...can't be done.

Brenee's work is so powerful and important and she is so engaging in her TED Talks.
Her work on the importance of embracing our imperfections is so necessary..especially when so many 'perfect people' in the middle class have to face the harsh reality that their following 'the rules' (working hard, graduating from college, etc) won't save their jobs, because they are being eliminated by technology or are being sent overseas.
I therefore feel petty or silly in having such a problem with the narrator.
Here's why:
Her well-coiffed and perfected diction annoyingly contradicts the valuable messages of acceptance and authenticity described in Brenee's book. The audiobook makes me feel like I'm listening to a lecture from an automated Stepford Wife.
I humbly recommend checking out what James Altucher did when he recoded, 'Choose Yourself'..he embraced his authenticity throughout and consistently and playfully amended his book with impromptu, but relevant thoughts and stories that further made his point.
